Like what I see so far. Doubt it will be a Facebook killer, but I think it has a lot more personal & business applications and could become more of a muti-purpose utility - not just a social network for sharing pictures of your cat. Georgia HB 385, 386, 387, 388: tax on veterinary services, boarding, grooming, and trainingIt may soon cost you more money to take care of your pet if a proposed tax on services including vet services if approved. Veterinarians and animal control officers in Tifton are speaking out against the bill that they think will have a big impact on pet owners if it becomes law. If you own a dog or cat, you know they can be expensive. Dr. Larry Branch knows he has one himself and as a veterinarian he says its hard to get people to purchase services for their pets.... That's why he says proposed legislation that would tax veterinary services has him concerned..... He first learned about the proposed tax through the Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, and according to their web site "strongly oppose the tax" "It will make a huge difference on what it will cost a dog or cat lover to provide for their beloved pets," he said. It would tax services that traditionally have never been taxed before, "Repairing broken bones, taking x-rays," he said.... The Georgia Veterinary Medical Association is encouraging pet owners to contact state legislators about the bill. My Comments . . . I don't like this one bit . . . and not just because I don't like paying taxes. Think of all the rescue groups and humane societies out there (where we've gotten our dogs) that will all of a sudden have to bear higher operating costs to continue doing the great work that they do When will the government learn that spending less is also an alternative? Raising taxes - or creating new taxes - always seems to be the knee-jerk reaction to deficits If you're pet-owner or animal lover, you might want to reach out to your state legislators about this.
